Buying
We buy material from a wide range of companies across the UK. Typically we need material in baled form which means the majority of our suppliers have balers and have created a grade of paper, plastic or metal that we then buy from them. However we also buy loose material loaded into walking floor trailers which we can then deliver to our customers to either be sorted or put straight into processing. We buy from a wide range of factories, printers, warehouses. A typical supplier to Amasha is either a paper merchant, waste management company or local authority however we also buy from farms, pack houses and retailers. We prefer to buy full loads of one type of material but we can also take split loads with up to five or six grades of material on the truck which can often happen with scrap plastic. We are pretty careful about who we trade with. We look to form long term relationships with our suppliers and add value to their businesses. We are always on the look out for reliable, quality conscious providers of material from all walks of life!
Selling
We sell to a global market and have built long term customer relationships across the recycling sector in the UK, Germany, France, Denmark and Holland. We have been trading with Papermills in India since 2009 and have an intimate knowledge of who to trade with and who not to trade with. We pride ourselves on knowing what our customers want, what they are producing and selecting the right qualities that they need. In South East Asia we sell to select customers in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. These are also markets we know very well and have established a reputation for shipping good quality material in a timely manner according to the specifications our customers require.

Documentation
The documentation department is a key role within the operations team of Amasha Ltd. Working alongside with logistics and accounts, the three teams complement each other and are required to work closely. While logistics provide and coordinate shipments, the documentation department takes this forward and prepares the vital documents according to customs, bank and customer requirements to allow a smooth arrival at destination and for us to be paid on time. We have an in house soft ware system that helps up deliver our documents in an efficient and swift manner, always reaching our customers well before arrival of the vessel.
Compliance
Governments around the world are increasing the level of regulation of the waste and recycling industry. We ensure that all of our customers and suppliers are compliant with the relevant regulatory requirements. Our office is based in Scotland, therefore we are regulated by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), and we also engage with the different environment agencies across the UK. Amasha are registered with both SEPA and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency as a Carrier and Broker of controlled waste. We are also accredited with SEPA as an Exporter of Packaging Waste. This accreditation authorises Amasha to issue Packaging Waste Export Recovery Notes (“ePERNS”) for the export of Paper, Plastic, Aluminium and Steel packaging waste outside the United Kingdom. We inspect and sample the materials we trade at supplier’s sites on a quarterly basis. We work closely with suppliers, building the relationship and providing assurance that the materials are suitable for export, and that they will be repossessed at approved reprocessors that meet compliance requirements. We ensure that supplier sites always have up to date waste processing permits and weighbridge calibration certificates. As part of onboarding a new customer we ensure that they are fully compliant with UK Environment Agency regulations.
